Style 101: Daytime Pajama Trend

It’s been a while since I started seeing the pajama trend making headlines. From the big print magazines to huge websites like Who What Wear, started talking about how to master this look. I am going to share a little story and how I came to love wearing daytime pajamas. The first time I saw the pajama trend was a candid photo of Selena Gomez. She was wearing a silky navy pajama with details in white and red heels. I immediately thought she was nuts, yet very bold. The trend, at first, was not my favorite; it took me a while to be ok with it. It took me even longer to actually decide I wanted to try it out.

In November of last year, I saw a client wearing a pajama while working. Finally, I got to see the trend live. She was wearing a beautiful royal blue silk pajama with big white flowers. The details were in emerald green and she paired it up with cute flats. The lady looked so lovely, and of course I had to ask her where was the pajama set from. She answered “Oh, it’s from Dolce and Gabbana.” My heart broke in two because I knew it was going to be too expensive for my bank account to afford it. I went online that night and found out, first that it was sold out and that it was around $3,000.

During winter break, I was eager to write down my new year resolutions. My mom was also itchy about starting a new project for the new year. I jokingly said, “Let’s make pajamas to wear during the day!” And so Kutimo was born. My new clothing brand. My ultimate dream. I am so excited to finally share this project with you. It is not 100% launched, but the work is done and inly a few tweaks are missing. Our purpose is to change the way people view pajamas. Let’s go out to the streets in comfortable attire that also looks fashionable and chic. Not everyone feels that they can pull of the trend, but I believe that it is possible.

If you click here, you can pre-order your own set of pajama! We offer about 12 different prints and also solid colors. Plus, if you live in Miami you can schedule a fitting session with me so your pajama fits to perfection!

It’s funny that when you put heels on this it works as an actual daytime look. Nice job with the pajama trend.

Does the pajama trend count if I just stay in my pajamas all day (and don’t wear a bra?) Of course, there’s no makeup or hair combing either – LOL!

Those PJs are beautiful! Anyway, call me crazy, with no sense of fashion or whatever, but I never got these crazy trends. Simply not my style.

I never knew this was a trend! So interesting. People are always saying “stop wearing workout clothes if you’re not actually going to the gym” but why can’t we? It’s comfortable to wear! I hate wearing anything that I can’t be comfortable in, it just ruins the day! Maybe I’ll have to try this pyjama look 🙂
