Swim Week 2016 Recap: Part 1

Hello Fashion Addicts! I can finally share with you guys my experience during Swim Week 2016. I wasn’t able to take photos of the outfits before because of Miami’s heat and scheduling issues. But I decided to shoot my top 3 outfits. I will share them with you in a 3-part recap of my experience.

Day one started with Peroni’s emerging designer series fashion show. For this show, I decided to wear for the first time my patched jeans (to see how I created them you can click here). I paired them with a simple white tee and yellow heels. I didn’t want the outfit to turn too biker-ish or dark with black heels. My main goal was to leave the jeans as the primary statement piece. What do you think?

It was my first time attending Swim Week shows. My excitement didn’t even let me sleep the night before lol. The show was set to start at 10:00 p.m., but it took a little longer than expected. Miami’s humidity made the wait seem longer than what it actually was. Once the show started, I was so fascinated that I completely forgot about the heat. The designs that strutted down the catwalk were gorgeous! I wish I had taken my camera to the show. But for those of you who follow me on Snapchat (@modaddicted) got the front row experience through my story!

Hola chicas!

    • Thanks! I think it is an event that is still growing and needs some tweaks! Hopefully one day it becomes as big as New York Fashion Week!

  1. Those are such fun jeans! I’m not sure I can pull them off, but I could definitely rock the shoes! Great look.

    • You can always created patched denim in other forms. Maybe doing a patched jean jacket or a patched denim purse! 🙂

  2. I’m not sure if I’ve heard of swim week but it sounds like a fun event especially since it’s done during the summer! I really like your outfit, it looks super comfy!

    • It is a fun event! Although is was super hot here in Miami. But I had fun checking what swimsuits trends are taking over the runways <3

  3. Sounds like a fun time – but the humidity must have been insane! I love those yellow heels. I would probably kill myself if I put them on, but they are gorgeous!

    • Its funny because some high heels my feet can’t handle. This ones look so high, but they are actually sooo comfortable! I couldn’t believe it when I put them on for the first time.

  4. Love-love-love the pop of yellow for those heels. They totally steal the show and are a perfect way to make your outfit look chic and on-trend!

  5. Loving those heels!! But ever since I got pregnant, I have avoided heels. Now i’m trying to get back into it with wedges and pumps, Hopefully someday I’ll be brave enough for those.
