Styling 101: How to get dressed in a rush…

Hello girls (and boys)! Let’s talk about how to properly style an outfit when you are in a rush. Picture this: you are getting ready for an event, or date. The outfit was a no brainer because you already styled it in your head. As soon as you try it on, you hate it! “What was I thinking?” You try every single thing in your closet, but hate every possible combination. You end up wearing an outfit you recently wore because you are tired of thinking what you can wear! This has happened to almost everyone in this planet and you’ll be happy to hear that there is a very simple solution to this problem.

I was that person recently. I know, a fashion blogger who doesn’t know what to wear? WOW! Well, I’m a girl and the phrase “I don’t have anything to wear!” is very common on our daily remarks. It is in our DNA to hate out closet every three to four months (and I am being considerate lol). This is why you’ll spot us at the mall that often. But, a long time ago my mom taught me that it is all about the shoes and accessories. It doesn’t matter if you re wearing a dress, or a t-shirt and pants. If you are not wearing the right shoes and accessories, guess what? Your outfit will suck!

My favorite outfit for these types of situations is: a plain white blouse and jeans. I know, I know it is not the most glamorous outfit. It is simple, just that: simple! Just remember that the outfit can be dressed up or down depending on the accessories you choose. For this post, I decided to keep it casual. I paired up the simple outfit with nude YSL heels and a brown Forever 21 bag. I didn’t wanted to go to overboard with the accessories so I just opted for gold accessories.

It is that simple and fast to get ready! Next time you are in a rush and have no clue what to wear. Jump into your favorite jeans and your favorite white blouse. Go for statement earrings or a statement necklace and your favorite heels. This outfit will never fail. It doesn’t matter you are going for a lunch date or you are having a girls night out, the outfit won’t fail you.

Just remember that simplicity is elegance!

Hola chicas (y chicos)!

I don’t have a lot of clothing so I can’t afford to be picky unless I want to go naked – HA! I just throw on whatever makes me feel good and I am all set!

I usually get dressed in a rush, so this is nothing new to me. Whenever I decide to leave the house, it is usually last minute and I have to throw something on in a hurry.

Oh man, I hate when I have an outfit planned and then realize it’s not as good in person as it was in my head. Or even worse, that it would be awesome but there’s some mystery stain I hadn’t noticed before! Ugh, the worst. A tshirt and jeans are such a good stand by!

This is a great idea! I love capsule wardrobes for just the reason you pointed out – those dreaded moments when one has “nothing to wear.” I’ve chosen pieces I like and that usually go together pretty well. I love your shoes 🙂

Ha! That first paragraph describes me perfectly. I do that a lot. If it’s not the wardrobe, it’s my hair completely acting up.

I have a couple go-to outfits when I like nothing in my closet – which unfortunately seems to be a lot lately. Either I have too many choices, or I need to do a huge purge and go shopping again.
