New Year, New Blog

Two years ago, I decided to open a fashion blog. I thought it would be something easy, were I would just write my fun experiences and tips and share them. Little did I know, there is a HUGE business behind every single blog you read out there on the web. The past 2 years, I made several mistakes and learned from them.

That is why on November, I decided to pause my blog and sit down and reflect on all the mistakes I made. I wanted to improve my writing and photography skills, and the blog overall.

He cometido errores y he aprendido de ellos.

2016 is the year I come back blogging better and consistently. I want Moda Addicted to be a place where people can find inspiration, fashion and beauty tips, and a person to talk to whenever you have a fashion crisis. But I also want Moda Addicted to become a platform for me to showcase my journalistic skills.

That is why this year, I am proud to announce a new sections for the blog: Blogger of the Month, a monthly post that will be published at the end of each month to showcase a blogger. tell their stories and how they have become who they are today.

I am also adding to the blog: AskMeFashion a section where you can consult with me your fashion queries. Plus, if you are in the Miami area I will be delighted to offer my personal shopping services!

Overall, I feel excited and pumped about 2016! My number 1 goal is to reach out to as much girls as possible to make them feel comfortable in their own skin and to not be afraid of Fashion!

Because the only dress you need to put on everyday is confidence!

So share with me, What are your 2016 goals?!

  1. I love how you came up with different areas for your blog! I’m local as well in Hollywood, FL and love connecting with like minded bloggers…my editorial calendar is going to be my best friend this year!

    • Hi Lucy!

Thanks for your sweet comment. I love connecting with bloggers too! It is actually one of my favorite parts of blogging.

  2. I love that your posts are bilingual. It’s awesome that you can reach a much larger audience that way! I also think you were smart to slow down and take stock of your true goals. It’s much easier to reach your goals when you have a plan in place!

    • Hi Lisa,

Funny, before my hiatus, I stopped blogging in Spanish. Translating the texts was a bit of a hazard, but after my break from blogging I decided to stick to my bilingual roots. Glad you like that about the blog!

  3. Awesome that you are going to do a blogger of the month things. I have been reading so much about goals and I am feeling pumped for 2016. I am going to do my first webinar before launching my first e-course. Those are my goals. I hope to do the first webinar in March.
    Good luck on your goals!

    • Hi!

Glad you like the idea of my new section!

About your webinar… what would be the topic? I love registering and attending webinars, I think they are a great way to learn and expand your knowledge! Best of luck on your 2016 goals!!

  4. Great post and highly applaud the confidence part. Most women need to stop worrying what other people think and just find their OWN fashion, and be happy.

    • Hi Di,

Yes women need to start thinking more of what makes them happy and not how to please so much others! A little bit of selfishness is good sometimes. 🙂

  5. I am still processing ideas for some regular posts to my blog-I like both of yours. I just added my chef hubby to the blog too, so I hope he writes some things too.

    • Sarah!

Thinking for new posts is somewhat cool and difficult haha for me at least. The best way is just to read other blogs similar to yours so you see what has worked for other bloggers, then you just pick similar topics and brainstorm how to put your own spin to things.

  6. Good for you for taking the time and thinking about what to do with your blog. I know (from personal experience) that walking away from a blog is easy to do.

The various sections sound great. I think those will help keep you engaged with the blog.

As for me, my goals are to blog more and to make the leap into video. Either via Periscope or Blab.

    • Liz!

I have always wanted to move to blogs too! But those take a lot of time. Let me know how your move to video goes, maybe i’ll try it in the future 🙂

    • Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your kind comment 🙂 Always reflecting and learning from errors is a good thing! It helped a lot

  7. Those are some fantastic goals! I like your blogger of the month idea, and I really like your AskMeFashion section, great idea! I wish you all the luck in 2016!
I too want to take my blog to the next level in 2016. I have set out some great goals using my goal tips and am very excited for finishing school this year, Tough Mudder, and taking a new approach to saving 🙂

    • I am finishing school too this year, in May! Congratulations on that!

      your goal tips are awesome!

  8. I think it’s great that you took the time to stop and reflect on your blog and where you wanted it to go next. Your ideas for this year sound great! I’ve been blogging for 9 years and I find it really helpful to go back and make sure I’m writing about whatever delights me the most.

    • Wow you have been blogging for a long time! congrats on that <3

I think it was hard while being a full-time student to concentrate on the blog! But yes, taking the time to re-think why I started blogging and where I want my blog to go in the future was the best decision.

  9. Hello! You have such a lovely name. Ana’s are the best haha.
I love the idea of you wanting to better your blog, especially since it is a new year. I can definitely relate with how hard it is to maintain a blog. I have had mine for two year but because of school and work, I always found it to be difficult. I definitely think you can do it! If you need a little push, let me know! I may also need some encouragement since I am also aiming to be more serious about my blog.

    Wishing you the best.

    Ana (

    • Haha, you have lovely name too 🙂

Same, my school was so demanding I couldn’t dedicate time for the blog! But I hope this year will be different.

      <3 Ana

  10. We’ve been stirring too much to a certain standard in fashion and forget that we actually owe our own standard. I love how you willing to reach out the girls “to make them feel comfortable in their own skin and to not be afraid of Fashion.” Tha’t amazing!

    • Thank you <3

I hope to reach many this year. Girls now grow with a misconception of image. They think that what they see in social media and tv is what they need to be in order to be beautiful, successful, and fashionable, when in reality confidence is all 🙂

  11. Amazing! You definitely have a base line to achieve all our goals for 2016. I too started a blog not realizing the depth of the commitment. This post has definitely motivated me to reevaluate and try new things. Thanks for sharing

  12. I love these ideas. I think it’s high time I set some attainable goals for my blog for this year as well 🙂

    • Thank you <3

yes, I learned the hard way when I stopped blogging for almost 4 months. Half of my followers left :(. Gladly I reflected on that and learned from my mistake.

    • Omg! yes I remember you haha I have commented on a couple of pictures form your instagram. Thanks for your sweet comment.

Of course, I would love to feature you! send me an email: so I can add you to the bloggers list I plan to feature on this year’s Blogger of the Month section

      Happy New Year

  13. I think you will have a wonderful 2016. you took time to really refocus and make positive changes. I wish you all the best and can’t wait to read more!

  14. The sections you willbe adding are awesome. Keep it up! You are a great inspiration to other women! I love when bloggers showcase other bloggers! I would love to participate 😉 XO

    • Hi Natalia!

Thank you for your sweet words <3

I like your blog, I found it through twitter not long ago 🙂

Just send me an email to so I can add you to the list and further discuss the section 🙂

  15. Looking forward to seeing all that you accomplish in 2016. I love the idea of your Askmefashion section. I think it is a great way to connect with your readers and help them with their fashion needs.

  16. Although I love your fashion sense, I agree that most women need to be confident in their own skin.
i have set some goals for my blog too this year- hope I can acheive them 😀

  17. Great goals for the new year. As a fashion lover, I can’t wait to follow along with your blog. Blog life is tough but consistency is the key.

  18. Comfortable in my own skin – that would be wonderful! After having three children my body is completely different than it used to be, and some positive thinking would be a good idea for me!

  19. Exercising more consistently is one of my goals. As a matter of fact, after I finish reading a few more posts I’m going to knock the dust off of my Hip Hop Abs DVD and then play a little Kinect Sports. I also think I’m going to start a kettlebell program. I’ve heard good things about it.

  20. This is the perfect website for anyone who wants to find out about this topic.
You understand so much its almost tough to argue with you (not
that I personally would want to…HaHa). You definitely put a brand
new spin on a subject that’s been written about for ages.
    Excellent stuff, just great!
