Mastering a Monochromatic Outfit

Hi Fashion Addicts! Today’s blog post is all about monochromatic looks and how to master them. The idea originated when, a month ago, I joined a network of Venezuelan Bloggers. Each month they challenge bloggers to create looks based of a theme. This month’s theme is to create a monochromatic outfit. When I first read the challenge guidelines I thought of creating an all-white outfit. Later I decided to challenge myself to wear a color I never thought I would: military green. In my opinion, mastering an outfit of the same color head-to-toe has to do with mixing and matching.

My first advice is once you have the color, find variations of the color that are not very dramatic. If you want your outfit to even stand out more, mix fabrics. Sometimes we believe that wearing the same color from head to toe can look tacky or weird, but when done right it can make heads turn.

To create the look on the photos I took a trip to the mall and ended in Forever 21 like always. Seriously, I should hold stock shares of that store! As soon as I walked in, I saw military green everywhere and knew that was going to be my choice. I tried on millions of outfits, until I found the perfect match. Not gonna lie, it was a struggle at first. Finding the purse was a different story. I didn’t know where to find the right bag to match my outfit. Later that day, I had already given up on the hunt, but as soon as I walked into Target the clutch fell into my hands. The shoes are Steve Madden. I bought them during my senior year in high school. Can’t believe I still have them; probably because they are so comfortable!

Hola chicas!!

At the end, I was extremely happy with the outcome! What do you guys think?

En fin, me encantó el outfit! Ustedes que opinan?

XOXO Ana Cristina Mariño

Hello!

I like how you put everything together! Monochromatic only looks good if you match everything well and in this case, you did a great job! I love the purse too.
