Christmas Gifts Round-up

So every year in December, people give out presents to their loved ones. We enjoy the holiday shopping, minus the long-endless-very-boring-lines, but the sales are great. It all starts with Black Friday and goes until the week of Christmas, then sales start to fade a little.

When I was younger, and probably like many of you, if I only got 1 present I would feel like Christmas never arrived. Quantity over quality was my motto. The more the merrier haha (I was just a kid, don’t judge). But as I grew older, I have come to adopt the quality Over quantity motto. Plus, let me just throw this out there, that we have become so materialistic that we now expect a very expensive gift like: a new iphone, a new designer handbag, jewelry, pair of shoes, etc, instead of appreciating whatever our loved ones give us. Note how I am generalizing, even-though I know there might be people who don’t care about this stuff. But reality is that the world revolves around money, and well that has brought a very materialistic age.

Well, enough with that non-sense. My very materialistic side appreciated and now enjoys this awesome gifts that my family gave to me on Christmas Day:

But my favorite present above ALL was that I actually got an internship position at…

Yes, you read correctly! My first day was this past Wednesday and I couldn’t be more exited to share this accomplishment with you. I had tried in the past to find an internship at this magazine, but there were no positions available. On December, they posted an opening at my university’s job postings website and I applied thinking I would not get an interview and well little did I know that I would get hired. So this was my favorite Christmas Present!

What was your favorite present that you received this past holiday season?

  1. Congratulations on your internship, that’s an awesome “Christmas gift” if ever there was! My husband completely surprised me with a chaise lounge for the upstairs landing (and even put it together for me on Christmas Day).

  2. Wow, congratulations on your internship. I always wanted to work as an editor or writer for some big magazines when I was younger. I guess that’s how blogging got started. Hopefully I’ll hear more about your experience.

    • haha yes I started blogging so my blog becomes my portafolio and maybe one day land an editor position at a magazine.

Thank you for the message <3 I'll try to post updates on the internship 🙂

  3. Congratulations on your position! My favorite present was an either an Origami Nativity my husband made for me or a picture of Stitch that my brother dres!

  4. I can definitely relate to your feelings about quality over quantity! However, my parents still struggle to just get us one or two gifts. They love having a tree that’s overflowing with presents! We always have a wonderful Christmas, nonetheless.
