Leopard Stripes

One of the hardest trends to master is animal print, in my opinion. If you wear it wrong you’ll be catalogued as worst dressed; yet, if you master it you’ll be best dressed. I’m not a fan of animal prints, but I do wear it in accessories. If you are like me, that is the best advice I can give you. Following trends for us fashionistas is a must, but some trends are hard to master. It is up to us to find the proper way to incorporate them in out style. Like I said, for me animal print is hard, but I incorporate it in accessories and shoes.

This time, I decided to buy this leopard and black pointed toe flats from Target. I thought they were the perfect statement flat shoes everyone should own. To make the outfit a little riskier, I combined the animal print with this stripped shirt from Forever 21. You know that when it comes to very striking trends I go for the affordable options. We wear them a couple of times and then we toss them, so why spend extra bucks on them? So my point is: if you don’t feel comfortable with trending prints, such as animal, go for shoes, scarfs, bags, etc. Accessorizing is the best way to incorporate these types of trends without going overboard.

I also love the versatility of this outfit! You can wear it during the day, but if you make the switch to heels it becomes the perfect night out outfit. The skirt is super comfortable (you can see other outfits with it here) and the color is trending as I write this.

P.S.: While I wrote this post, I was baby-sitting my nieces. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MOMS DO IT. It was so hard to keep them entertained, while I was wrote and edited the post. Seriously, I applaud all mommy bloggers, specially the ones with running toddlers!

Such a great look! I love the hint of animal print. You are right, it can be overpowering if you use too much of it. This is just right.

I love those shoes. I don’t have the confidence to pull off animal prints in a big swath – but as an accessory it will work — even for me.

I agree, animal prints are risky business when it comes to fashion. I think it will always depend on where and how you wear it, but no matter, it’s so much better in accessories than on your clothes.

I’ve never been a big animal print fan myself, but I totally agree with your styling tips. I like the idea of adding just a hint of print with flats or even an accessory.
